Scenic Ireland : Irish Photography Books from Christopher Hill
Scenic Ireland: The Province of Connaught
Scenic Ireland: The Province of Connaught takes the reader on a tour through each of Connaught's five counties to drink in its magnificent scenery while visiting sites of historic interest along the way. The journey unfolds through over 150 stunning photographs taken by Ireland’s leading landscape photographer Chris Hill, and is annotated by his close friend and travelling companion, Colin McCadden. Research, planning and driving were all shared as together they roamed the length and breadth of the province in a Campervan, allowing them to get off the beaten track and discover the most breathtaking scenery, at any hour, from dusk till dawn. The scenic contrasts in Ireland's western province of Connaught are epitimised with the mountains of counties Galway, Mayo and Sligo which drop dramatically in the west to a deeply-etched Atlantic coastline, yet fall gently eastward towards the undulating, fertile farmlands of land-locked County Roscommon.
